Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Same great food as their first location on Beckley. And I'll repeat my review for the Beckley location. Best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I've been here so many times and I'm always trying something different and it never disappoints. Their salsa is the best ever! I can't get enough of it.

Fantastic, authentic Mexican food. The service was very fast and friendly. The food was beautifully prepared. Serving sizes are very generous, so bring your appetite or order appropriately. Great environment, ideal for family outings.

Fantastic restaurant. Mexican food is very authentic abd pretty close to mexican food in California. I would highly recommend the fajita taco salad. You can order it with chicken, beef and shrimp. The taco shell os just perfect. They service beer. For the desert I would highly recommend the chimi cheesecake. Staff is very nice and a fantastic atmosphere.

This review is a split decision. My wife and I ate here earlier today. My wife truly enjoyed her dish of chicken over mushrooms and onions, accompanied by beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream. The veggies were caramelized and intense and the quantity was enough to feed two people fully. My dinner, a guacamole salad and a side of beans, was more average. The iceberg lettuce shreds were forgettable, the beans were nothing special, the guac and tomato were OK and the few avocado slices were good. Contrary to a review for the other location, there were not a lot of explicit veggie choices. Quesadillas and fajitas were all I saw (though a "create your own combo" option could have been made veggie). My wife's 5 experience, my 3 one and pretty good service tip this into a solid 4.

Here for the USAG XCEL gymnastics meet hosted by Branch Gymnastics. After a long day of gymnastics all day, this place was a treat!

My husband and I LOVE this restaurant! The food is great, the service is wonderful, and we always get our food quickly. I recommend La Cocina to anyone looking for a great Mexican joint.

Amazing Mexican food, we were both very happy with our meals the chips in the beginning were very good and the service was fast, efficient and pleasant. Highly recommended. Be back for sure !!

This is the second location here on Columbia, and the best location. Their second location on Beckley is awful, customer service sucks and food isn't as good! Any who back to this location, the food is always amazing! Chips and house salsa are always fresh and hot, and if you like cheesecake you HAVE to order their Chemicheesecake! Its probably the best Mexican dessert ever... Give this place a chance, parking is in the back and has 8 spots located in the front

This is a very nice Mexican restaurant located on Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek. This is their second location in town, and it is the best. Very large and clean. On my last visit, I ordered from the ala cart menu. I had two chicken enchiladas, and a pork taco with cilantro and onion. I asked for the taco prepared this way since I did not see it on the menu. I also had the taco prepared using a corn tortilla. All three items were very tasty and full of flavor. My wife ordered a cheese enchilada, and the guacamole salad. Both were very good, and she just loved the salad. We had an ice cold pitcher of Dos Equis cerveza. It's a much better deal than ordering by the glass. Overall this is a great Mexican restaurant that I will be visiting again. If you are in Battle Creek, make sure that you stop and grab a bite to eat.

This will mark my first review on Yelp. I visited this restaurant for dinner. First impressions were great. They offered me complimentary chips and salsa. The customer service was awesome. I ordered a tamale platter and an a la carte asada steak taco. The presentation was quite nice. All of the food was very flavorful. The portion sizes were above average. I couldn't finish everything, being filled up from the chips. The only issue was that the carne asada steak was dry. I knocked one star off for that. All in all, a great dining experience. I will definitely return.

First time coming here. Really enjoyed the environment, the staff, as well as the amazing food. Something about their salsa and their rice especially made the two items taste different (in a good way) from other Mexican restaurants. Definitely plan on coming back sometime soon.
